Conor White – Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Commercial Litigation 

Conor White is a bankruptcy and commercial litigator representing trustees, creditors, debtors, and stakeholders in complex disputes arising from insolvency, financial distress, and failed enterprises. 

Conor’s practice is built around contested matters. He represents Chapter 7 trustees pursuing fraudulent-transfer and other estate claims, creditors in significant bankruptcy litigation, and businesses navigating disputes arising from restructuring and insolvency proceedings. His experience spans adversary proceedings, avoidance actions, creditor-debtor disputes, asset-recovery litigation, and complex commercial disputes involving distressed companies. 

At IMcP, Conor is a key part of the firm’s bankruptcy and insolvency litigation practice, regarding bankruptcy estates, distressed enterprises, fiduciaries, creditors, and businesses confronting significant financial and litigation exposure. His practice intersects with IMcP’s work involving digital assets, cryptocurrency, fintech, and other complex enterprises. 

Trustee Representation & Bankruptcy Litigation 

Conor has significant experience representing Chapter 7 trustees in litigation designed to identify and recover value for bankruptcy estates. His work includes fraudulent-transfer and avoidance litigation, claims involving former insiders and third parties, and other adversary proceedings arising from the collapse of businesses. 

Among other matters, Conor represented the Chapter 7 trustee of a former energy-trading company in numerous adversary proceedings seeking recovery of alleged fraudulent transfers. Those proceedings resulted in recoveries and favorable settlements for the benefit of the estate’s creditors. 

Conor understands that effective trustee representation requires more than knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code. It requires developing the factual record, identifying viable sources of recovery, evaluating litigation economics, and being prepared to litigate contested matters through resolution. 

Creditor, Debtor & Distressed-Company Litigation 

Conor’s experience extends across the major constituencies involved in insolvency proceedings. 

On the creditor side, Conor was a member of the trial team representing the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) in the adversary proceeding brought by Brazos Electric Power Cooperative arising from approximately $1.9 billion in energy charges incurred during Winter Storm Uri. The matter proceeded to a two-week trial in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas before ultimately being resolved in connection with confirmation of Brazos’s Chapter 11 plan. 

Conor has also represented a national retail chain in Chapter 11 restructuring proceedings involving numerous stores, employees, and creditors, culminating in a sale of the debtor’s assets for the benefit of creditors. 

That experience on different sides of the bankruptcy process gives Conor perspective on how trustees, debtors, creditors, and other stakeholders evaluate contested matters—and how litigation strategy can affect the ultimate economics of a distressed enterprise. 

Commercial & Enterprise Litigation 

Bankruptcy disputes rarely remain confined to bankruptcy law. They frequently involve allegations of fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, disputed ownership rights, transfers of assets, and other complex commercial claims. 

Conor litigates these issues in and outside of bankruptcy proceedings. His experience includes representing a software and technology company in a dispute concerning contractual and intellectual-property rights following a debtor’s disputed transfer of contract rights, as well as defending an insurance marketing company against claims asserted by a Chapter 7 trustee involving alleged RICO violations, aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty, and fraudulent transfers. 

At IMcP, that experience complements the firm’s broader enterprise-litigation platform. Conor works on matters where financial distress intersects with commercial litigation, fiduciary obligations, asset recovery, and increasingly complex digital-asset and cryptocurrency disputes. 

Courtroom Foundation 

Conor served as both a Judicial Intern and Judicial Extern to the Honorable Edward L. Morris of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas. He also served as a Judicial Intern to the Honorable Tiffany Haertling of the 442nd Judicial District Court of Texas. 

That experience helped shape Conor’s approach to litigation: know the record, understand the governing law, identify what matters to the court, and be prepared to try the dispute. 

Conor brings that approach to IMcP’s bankruptcy practice. He combines substantive insolvency knowledge, experience representing bankruptcy trustees and other stakeholders, and meaningful courtroom experience to handle complicated contested matters from the outset. 

Dallas Roots 

Conor was born and raised in Dallas. He attended Southern Methodist University for his undergraduate education before earning his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law. 

While at SMU Law, Conor served as a Senior Articles Editor of the SMU Science and Technology Law Review and participated in the AAJ Student Trial Advocacy Competition Team, Board of Advocates, and Metroplex Mock Trial Competition Team.
